How-to Tutorials for Accessing Library Research Materials

Short Videos and Procedures

Primo OneSearch--Accessing most of the library's resources

Primo OneSearch allows you to access these resources:

  • All FVCC Library resources, including Ebooks, print books, DVDs, academic articles, and musical scores
  • Print books from other Montana academic libraries.  These books can be requested easily by clicking on a Request link.  These resources are normally delivered to the FVCC library within three business days.

Why use the Primo OneSearch?

  • The Primo OneSearch increases discoverability.  This means that because it searches everything, you will be able to see and choose the best resources the library has to offer.
  • Primo OneSearch is a great search for topics where information may be scarce since you can see anything available through the FVCC library as well as items available at other academic libraries in Montana.

Drawbacks of Primo OneSearch

  • You need to use multiple search terms to narrow down the number of results to be more relevant to your research.
  • If you don't use the filters such as data range, subject and resource type you will have to spend more time looking for the best resources.
